Inter House English Declamation Competition organised at Sainik School Satara

Sainik School Latest News: Sainik School Satara (Maharashtra) witnessed a lively display of oratory prowess as the Inter House English Declamation Competition for the Juniors grade was held on August 10, 2024, at the prestigious Dahanukhar Auditorium. This annual event, which saw enthusiastic participation from cadets of classes VI and VII, is an important step in the school’s ongoing efforts to groom young cadets for future service in the Indian Armed Forces.

Each Junior house was represented by five cadets, who took to the stage with confidence, delivering speeches that reflected their enhanced communication skills. The competition was stiff, with every participant demonstrating not only their command over the English language but also their ability to engage and captivate an audience with their words, tone & delivery style.

Good communication skills are important for a successful career in the Indian Armed Forces, where clear and effective communication can make the difference between success and failure. Officers are expected to lead men from front.

Sainik School Satara places a strong emphasis on developing these skills, recognising that Inter-House competitions like the English Declamation are crucial for building stage confidence and refining the oratory abilities of young cadets.

Nehru House emerged victorious, clinching the coveted winners’ trophy. Cadet Ishan Mishra took first place, followed by Cadet Devank Rana in second, and Cadet Krishna Narayankar in third. The winners were honoured with medals and certificates, which were presented by Lieutenant Colonel Manisha Dabas, Vice Principal of Sainik School Satara, in recognition of their excellent performances.
