Admission Process of SBS AFPS for Academic Year 2024-25

Application Procedure:

• Step 1: Register with basic details and note down the system generated Registration ID and password, received on your email and phone number. Please save this Registration ID and password.
• Step 2: Log into the portal with your Registration ID and password. You may click on ‘Forgot Password’ or ‘Forgot Registration ID’ in case you forget your password or Registration ID.
• Step 3: Click on the apply now button once you log-in and fill the application form.
• Step 4: Upload scanned images of recent photograph and signature of the candidate
  1. The recent photograph should be colored or black/white (clear contrast).
  2. Scanned photograph and signature should be in JPG/ JPEG format.
  3. Size of the scanned photograph and signature should be maximum 400 KB.
• Step 5: Select the specialisation(s) you wish you to apply for and fill three campus preferences for each of the specialisation(s) accordingly.
  Note: We offer five specialisations (STEM, HE21, PVA, Humanities and AFPS) for class 9th and 4 specialisations (STEM – Engineering, STEM – Medical, Humanities and AFPS) for class 11th. A candidate can apply for a maximum of three specialisations.
• Step 6: Review all information thoroughly before submitting your application. Please ensure you have read all the instructions mentioned in the form and filled your information accordingly. You can edit your preferences or your choices till the last date of application but no changes will be allowed after the last date.

SBSE AFPS comes under Delhi Govt’s new initiative under Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Schools of Specialised Excellence Schools project. These SoSE’s (School of specialised excellence) invite applications for admissions for the following streams:
Class 9:
Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM),
Humanities, Performing and Visual Arts (PVA),
High-End 21st Century Skills (HE21),
SBS Armed Forces Preparatory School (AFPS)

Class 11:
Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) : Engineering
Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) : Medical
Humanities – Class 11
SBS – Armed Forces Preparatory School, Jharoda Kalan (Residential)

Eligibility for SBS Armed Forces Preparatory School Jharoda Kalan

SBS AFPS accepts boys & girls in class 9 & class 11 via entrance exam. There are three eligibility criteria issued in notification for SBS AFPS:

• Residence & Previous School
• Age Limit
• Reservation Certificate (If applicable)

Now, let’s understand in detail about all three of these requirements.
Residence & Previous School: Admissions in Dr. B. R. Schools of Specialised Excellence are open for students who are residents of NCT of Delhi (with a valid address proof) and are studying in a recognized school of NCT of Delhi. Both the residence and school conditions need to be met to be eligible for admissions in SBS AFPS. Note: For admission in class 9th, a student currently enrolled in class 9th or above in academic year 2023-24 is not eligible, and for admission in class 11th, a student currently enrolled in class 11th or above in academic year 2023-24 is not eligible.

Age Limit for SBS AFPS :
Age Criteria for SBS AFPS (without any relaxation) as on 31/03/2024, For Class 9 Completed the age of 13 years but less than 15 years. For Class 11, Completed the age of 15 years but less than 17 years.

Reservation for SBS AFPS :
Candidates applying under the reserved categories should have a valid certificate approved by the Government of NCT of Delhi. Selected applicants will have to submit their certificate at the time of admission. In case of OBC certificate (Non-Creamy Layer), only certificates issued by the Government of NCT of Delhi will be considered valid. Applicants will have to produce their category certificate at the time of admission failing which the admission offer will be cancelled.
Seats are reserved for various categories as following: OBC (NCL) – 27%, SC – 15%, ST – 7.5%, CWSN – 3%.
